Hörnle rises as the first mountain in the Ammergauer Alps and considered as Bad Kohlgrub's local mountain. It consists of three peaks: Vorderes Hörnle (1,484 m), Mittleres Hörnle (1,496 m) and Hinteres Hörnle (1,548 m). The peak is frequently climbed in both summer and winter. In winter it's possible to sledge down depending on the conditions.
From the parking lot, follow the ski slope to Hörnle Hütte. The hut is open all season usually. From the hut, you can continue to three Hörnle peaks. It's possible to skip Vorderes and Mittleres Hörnle on the way to Hinteres Hörnle. The path is technically easy and suitable for beginners. In winter you should bring spikes and snowshoes depending on conditions. Don't forget to bring sledge for the way down ;-) (it's not possible to rent sledges at the hut)
