Viererspitze (2054 m) is the most iconic peak around Mittenwald due to steep slopes to all sides. In addition to the steepness of the slopes and slightly overhanging face towards Mittenwald makes breathtaking view. If you have ever been to Mittenwald, Viererspitze is one of the first things that attracts your attention. It's named comes because of the mountain shape which looks like a big 4.
Ascent: The normal route to the Viererspitze runs from the Dammkarhütte. After that it goes through the Vordere Dammkar that becomes very steep in the end. Finally after steep part, you arrive at Viererscharte between the Nördliches Karwendelkopf and the Kreuzwand. Then slightly downwards over a clearly recognisable path to the saddle between the Nördliches Karwendelkopf and the rocky summit of the Viererspitze. From there you can see a chimney to start the climb to the final part of the summit. The rock is stable and the climb is grade II but you have to be careful as the rock is made of limestone and can give you false sense of security. If you follow the correct path, you will always find the hooks for belay.
A difficult but more direct access leads from the Mittenwald Hut through the Vordere Kreuzklamm (UIAA II). The route is considered to be at high risk of falling rocks (I haven't done this one but I saw a group of 4 people struggling there and causing a deadly rockfall).
