Tofana di Rozes (3,225 metres), located west of the resort of Cortina d'Ampezzo, the mountain's giant three-edged pyramid shape and its vertical south face, above the Falzarego Pass, makes it the most popular peak in the Tofane group, and one of the most popular in the Dolomites [wikipedia].
Via Ferrata Difficulty: C/D
Ascent: The route starts at Rifugio Angelo Dibona where you can drive with your car (they have amazing food and service). From there follow the well marked path to Via Ferrata Lipella. The ferrata is one of the most of the most beautiful ferratas in Dolomites. The ferrata starts with an easy B section followed by a ladder and a big tunnel. You need to bring a headlamp for the tunnel. When you come out of the tunnel you have to traverse West wall of the mountain for some time before getting to the next part of the ferrata. From there you continue on the ferrata till Tre Dita. There is an exit there, if you are tired you can continue to the hut Camillo Giussani. Otherwise, you can continue on the remaining ferrata. Soon you arrive at the point where the ferrata finishes and the routes merges with the Normal hiking route to the summit on the ridge. From there follow the normal hiking route to the peak. There might be some snow on the ridge in early summer, so taking crampons is a good idea.
Descent: Follow the normal hiking route to Camillo Giussani. The path is not so well marked but you can find the traces in the path. From Camillo Giussani the path is well marked to Rifugio Angelo Dibona.
