Von Hammersbach zum Eingang der Höllentalklamm, 1004 m, durch die Klamm (Gebühr) und weiter zur Höllentalangerhütte, 1387 m. Wir gehen über die Brücke bei der Hütte und dann nordwestl. über das Schotterfeld zu einem schon von der Hütte sichtbaren Wasserfall. Hier beginnt bei einem roten „W“ der Steig, der diagonal nordöstl. den Hang ansteigend quert, rot markiert. Der Steig ist gleich zu Beginn am ausgesetztesten. Nach etwa 30 Min. wendet er sich nach links in Richtung eines frei stehenden Baumes und führt dann über Pfadspuren, kurze Kletterstellen und Geröll hinauf zur Waxensteinrinne, 2030 m. Die Felsrinne steigen wir über kurze plattige Absätze, II, hinauf. Bei 2170 m endet die Rinne; es geht nach rechts über Grasschrofen entlang blassroter Markierungen zum Gipfel, 2276 m.

On the way down from Riffelscharte, take the path which is secured with a steel cable until you read the scree. Here you can glissade down following the scree that extends furthest on the right, then through the Latschen and through the forrest until you hit the tracks of the Zugspitzbahn, where you have to walk across a tunnel (NOT through the tunnel) and then follow a small and steep path until you get to the forestry road. Follow until Eibsee.
