Breithorn is located at the border between Italy and Switzerland and is considered as the most easily climbed 4,000m alpine peak. There is a cable car that reaches very close to nearby summit Kleine Matterhorn. If you want some challenge you can start from the valley (Zermatt).

Ascent: From Zermatt train station follow the ski slopes till Kleine Matterhorn. You can also take the cable car from Zermatt to skip this part. From Kleine Matterhorn follow the long glacier traverse towards Breithorn. The last part becomes steep (up to 35 degree), then continue on the West summit ridge to the peak. Even though it's a technically easy tour, the altitude and weather conditions must not be underestimated.

Descent: Same as ascent.

Weather: Peak

Webcam: 360 view from Kleine Matterhorn
