The route offers nice views of famous peaks in Allgäu such as Höfats. The scooter rent at Oytalhaus is only possible during summer.
Reaching the start point: One can use regional trains to reach Oberstdorf from Munich. From Oberstdorf, take the bus to Christlessee. This is the start point of the hike.
Ascent: At the Christlessee, cross the bridge and turn left to a wide path. After continuing on this path for 100m, turn right to a forest path. This path goes up along a stream, with several viewpoints of the waterfall. Finally, the path ends in an asphalt road. Follow this road, however just before the restaurant turn right, where you see the iconic chapel. Continue on this wide and flat path for a while, until you reach the hut. From the hut go a bit further, and then turn left to the steep zigzag path, which leads to a saddle point. From here one can see Hoefats southwest peak on the left. We turn right here and continue on the ridge. After reaching the second saddle, one can see Rauheck in front, and Eissee below on the left. Go a bit further until the signpost, and then turn left to descent down to Eissee.
Descent: From the Eissee, we need to traverse to Kaseralpe. The path finding is not very easy, however the most of this path goes along the base of high mountains on right without losing much elevation. Finally, we arrive a hut and signpost, from where we turn left to follow a zigzag ascent to Kaseralpe. From Kaseralpe, the route continues along the asphalt road again all the way to Oytalhaus.
