Starting at Blindau parking you can either go up the steep road to Hindenburghütte (45-60min) or you take the route through the forest via the ski jumps (takes about 60-80 min).

During the season (April - end of October) you can also go via the red bus shuttle of Hindenburghütte. One way is 7,50 Euro (as of Nov. 2020).The shuttle starts at Tourist Info in Reit im Winkl.

From Hindenburghütte go straight ahead further up on the paved road to the small Anna chapelle and down to Obere Hemmersuppenalm. Make sure you get the path to your right leading into the forest. Right at the entrance of the you will find a small memorial for a killed forest worker.

Continue on the yellow tag (Premium Wanderweg Gletscherblick) path to Pflegereck-Forstdiensthütte on the former smuggler paths. You will go up until Durchkaseralmen where you can stop for a Käsebrot and Buttermilch! (Now you will also find the red-white-red markings on the path)

Continue to toward the direction of Straubinger Haus when you can already see it take turn to the left leading up to Fellhorn.This deviation will prolong your tour one hour.

Back at Straubinger Haus take the path down to Hindenburgburghütte. It takes approx. 45min. There are two paths possible! I prefer not to take the forest road as there are lots of mountainbikers.

Hindenburghütte offers great food and from there onwards you can either take road down, the path through the forest (the one you went up) or take the shuttle down!

In winter (approx. mid-December) you can also sledge down from Hindenburghütte. Check the Hindenburghütte website for news https://hindenburghuette.de/ (only in German though) .
