Most of the route is actually used as an ascent to Cima d'Asta but for some reasons if the conditions are not favourable (for example high avalanche risk), you can continue only till La Forzeleta. In winter, you have to choose your own route though depending on the conditions.
Rifugio Cima dAsta Ottone Brentari (2476 m) is open only in summer but in winter the bivouc has 6 beds only for emergency.
