The most famous postcard motif in the Dolomites: who doesn't know this postcard motif? The little church of St. Johann in Villnößtal with the rugged Geisler peaks. The more often you see the Geisler towers, the more eager the desire to climb up there and immerse yourself in this bizarre rocky world. The Furchetta and the Sass Rigais each form the highest point of the Geisler group at 3,025 meters. The latter can be reached via two via ferratas. The climb over the south-west ridge is only moderately difficult, but requires maximum attention due to the risk of falling rocks. It's a bit more hearty on the east rise. With an overnight stay at the Regensburger Hütte, you can tackle the Sass Rigais in two days from the Val Gardena (ascent 4 ¼ hours, descent 3 ½ hours).
