The Höferspitze (2131 m) is a beautiful peak with views towards Kleinwalsertal, Großer Widderstein, the Braunarlmassiv and Schröcken.  From Baad a circular path always leads slightly uphill through the Bärgunttal to Bärgunthütte. With the Sennalpe the way diminishes rather soon and increases clearly in slope. Through shrubbery and over alpine meadows you climb higher and higher up to the Hochalppass (1938 m) on historical ground. The Allgäu main ridge comes in view. At the end of the Bärgunttal, the Höferspitze is enthroned with a fine & steep summit slope that dominates overall. Just take a break here and take a deep breath. When you arrive at the summit, the incredible spectacle of colors in the sky and the sun on the horizon will take your breath away and recharge your batteries. You will need it because we will have still a long way in fron of us: the circumnavigation of Grosser Widderstein promises a special experience. It is know also as the guardian of Kleinwalsertal for its position closing the valley or the big capricorn rock since you can easily meet steinbocks here. With a height of 2533 meters, the Grosser Widderstein is the mountain majesty in Kleinwalsertal. The well-formed Widderstein summit is visible from all sides. The area around Großer Widderstein moreover offers great views into the surrounding valleys and even a look over Bodensee to the west. In clear weather it is sometimes possible to see the German Black Forest in direction west-north-west from the very top. Shortly thereafter, at a branch, you have the opportunity to descend to the idyllic lake Hochalpsee in a few minutes. Back on the main path you hike in about twenty minutes to the Widderstein hut (2015 m).

Back on the main path you hike in about twenty minutes to the Widderstein hut (2015 m) where we will have something to drink together. From there we go to the Gemstelpass (1972 m). Soon the track turns northeast and descends to the Upper Gemstelalpe (1694 m). From there it goes through a gorge (two secured passages) further down to the cultivated Hinter Gemstelalpe (1320 m). Now in a northerly direction always follow the course of Gemstelbach to Immerboden till we reach the starting point in Baad, about one and a half kilometers away
