Olperer (3,476 m) is the main summit of Tux ridge and offers beautiful summit panorama with beautiful views of Schlegeisspeicher.

Ascent: There is free parking available at the starting point of the hike. Follow the easy path toward Olpererhütte. This part of the trail might be very crowded so I recommend not to do this hike on weekends. From the hut follow the marked path towards Olperer. After walking on the marked trail you arrive at a sign post where the path bifurcates. The left one goes to Riepenkopf and the right one to Olperer. From here the path is not marked but there are cairns to follow. Some parts of the route go over big boulders. After some easy scrambling you arrive at snowfield Schneegupf. Just after the snowfield, you see a steel cable that's the key point. After that follow the very exposed ridge to the summit. There are some hooks and rings to secure yourself. I would recommend to bring a rope for this part.

Descent: Same as ascent.

Weather: Peak
