A longer tour (featuring an easy via-ferrata), very nicely done with public transport
Start is from the trainstation in Bayrischzell from which the tour goes in the direction of the ski area: it is going up the slope (Talabfahrt) to Mittleres Sudelfeld and from there higher up to the Rosengasse (you can chose among multiple ways how exactly to get there). From Rosengasse we are leaving the ski area and continuing first on a steep street and then on a path through the forest. When this part is done the way gets wider and more even. This part of the route is rather relaxed and nice, where we see our aim - the Brünnstein peak - while moving towards it. Shortly before Brünnsteinhaus, where one can get something to eat and drink (newly renovated hut, looks very confortable), the way gets steeper again. From the hut to the peak is a short and interesting part of the route, involving some scrambling and via-ferrata elements: steel ropes and ladders. I would not recommend the via ferrata set although I saw some people using it. It makes sense to take it only if you are not sure-footed or have no experience with such routes. From the peak there is a long ascent through the Bruntal and further to the city of Oberaudorf. Also here the routes can be varied and the descent can go through the skiing area Hocheck.
Since it is going through the ski areas this tour would be nicer outside of the ski season.
