Monte Mulaz (2,906 m) is a mountain of famous Pale di San Martino group. Unlike the main peaks of Pale di San Martino group, there is marked path to Monte Mulaz and it can be climbed in all weather. In winter, you have to check the avalanche situation carefully.

Ascent: From the parking lot (no parking fee) follow the road to Malga Venegia. Continue further on the road leaving Malga Venegia on the left. After passing another hut Malga Venegiotta soon you will see sign post to Rifugio Mulaz. Now the terrain becomes steep. In winter it can be icy, so ski crampons are necessary. Any slip in this steep section can be fatal. After arriving to Passo Mulaz the terrain becomes alpine. Often very steep, you might have to use your ice axe and crampons depending on the conditions. Final ascent part runs on the South ridge.

Descent: Same as ascent. If you're doing it in winter as skitouring, you have to be expert in skiing in any conditions. There are some slopes up to 40 degree.
