Piz Buin (3,312 m) is one of the most beautiful peaks of Silvretta group. The summit has very beautiful views of Piz Bernina, Ortler and other mountains in Silvretta group. The route is high altitude alpine tour and requires good fitness.
Ascent: The starting point of the tour is Bielerhöhe. In summer, you can drive till there but in winter, the only possible way is to take the cable car Vermuntbahn and two buses through tunnel. From the starting point, you follow the path on the left of the lake to Wiesbadener Hütte. The signpost says 2 hours to the hut. There are no technical sections till the hut.
From the hut you go little bit down and approach the glacier on right crossing all the crevasses on the left. There might be some icy and steep parts here. Once you arrive at the glacier, you continue towards the Buinlücke, you can leave your ski and continue the final climb to the summit. There are some exposed sections that require scrambling up to grade 2. You have to be careful, there might be some icy sections.
Descent: Same as ascent, you can bypass the hut and directly go down on the left.
