Day 3 of our hike starts at Rifugio Antermoia and brings us into the heart of Rosengarten. If we decided not to ascent Kesselkogel the previous day, this should be our first target for today. Otherwise we can head to the South towards Cima di Laussa, which is an easy T3 hike. For both options, the next peak we want to climb is Cima Scalieret (T4, 2887 m).
At latest now we should be awake and warm, which is good because after the nearby Gartl- and Santnerpass huts, the Santnerpass via ferrata starts (C). At its end, we can either choose to head slightly down towards Rosengartenhütte for a coffee break, or directly head on southwards along the Western face of the Rosengarten group and thus approach passo Vajolon. On the ridge, our second ferrata of the day begins, via ferrata Roda di Vael (C), guiding us up to the peak of Roda di Vael / Rotwand (2806 m). The ferrata directly goes over into via ferrata Masarè (C). After the last peak of the day, Cima de Masarè, we can descend to tonight's hut, Rifugio Roda di Vael, which is located directly at the foot of the mountain range.
