Kuhscheibe (3,189 m) is popular destination in winter. From the summit you have wonderful panorama all around. This tour is easy high altitude tour and can be done in 2 days with overnight stay in Amberger Hütte. The glacier is harmless and you can ski just below the summit.
Ascent: From the parking lot in Gries, follow the groomed trail to Amberger Hütte. From the hut, go towards South and approximately 1 Km, turn right. The path is quite steep (up to 35 degrees) and if you are with ski, you must be very good with kick turns. After the steep parts, the path becomes quite flat. Follow towards Roßkar glacier. The last part before the summit is again quite steep. Once you arrive at the ridge, the summit is easy scrambling.
Descent: Same as ascent.
