I was planning a hike in the Alps but the weather forecasts are not really convincing me. High chances of rain, even some chances for thunderstorms. So let´s go north to Franken for a beautiful and interesting adventure through forest, strange rocks and a huge number of caves. 34! Some or all of them we will be exploring. Please bring a flash light with you!
The Hirschbacher cave circular hiking trail is one of the most exciting and varied hiking trails in Germany. It offers caves, rocks and adventure. Behind every bend, hikers are offered new views and insights into the rugged karst landscape. Rock overhangs, Jura reefs, dolomite blocks and caves again and again. There are wonderful opportunities for easy scrambling with crawling inserts in winding caves that are up to 50 meters long and sometimes several meters deep. If you don't want to crawl into each of the 34 caves, you will always find a tmore comfortable variant or a way around it and can skip a few meters in altitude in some caves. Moreoversome beautiful open views can be enjoyed along the tour. We have great opportunities for this at the summit cross on the Mittelbergwand and near the Hohenglücksteig (viewpoint "Am Himmel").
