We start this day with the ascent of Großer Krottenkopf (UIAA I), with 2656 m the highest peak of the Allgäu Alps. From there we have different alternatives, of which I prefer the way towards Hermann-von-Barth hut, which lies in a rather calm and not so much frequented area of this mountain range and lends itself very much for a nice lunch break. From there we ho back to the left a short stretch before we turn more towards the North and a nice grass ridge with many flowers between Kreuzeck and Rauheck. From there it's an easy hike through mixed grass and rocky terrain towards Prinz-Luitpold-Haus, however we have complete two ascents before we finally reach the hut.

If this schedule seems to much for one day it is of course possible to skip the whole first part with Großer Krottenkopf and head directly towards Kreuzeck via Fürschießersattel.
