The classic among the via ferratas in Bavaria - an easy, but still quite hearty mountain tour that should not be underestimated.
This is mainly due to the few walking passages, but which have it in themselves.
On this scenically unique tour, you have a fantastic view of the surrounding alpine countryside and, of course, of Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
If you choose the Osterfelderkopf as your starting point, this undertaking is also easily doable as a day tour.
True via ferrata enthusiasts combine the Alpspitz-Ferrata with the Ostgrat and the Nordwandsteig - this results in a very beautiful, long and, above all, not too difficult via ferrata round.
Via a staple slab (B) and stepped terrain (A) up to the scree ledge.
A long row of staples (A/B) leads up to an embrasure.
There left stepped (A), end of the walking terrain, higher up to the so-called Herzerl.
From there the rock becomes more flat (A, places A/B) and you reach a smooth basin.
Past the junction to the Jubiläumsgrat/Mathaisenkarsteig you climb higher in a gully (A/B) and finally reach the summit on the ridge (A).
