To Oberstkogel: From Alpengasthof Praxmar, head south to the old valley station of the Zischgeles lift, always following the trail markings (32), there are no signs. Now over steep grassy slopes you reach Schäfalm, continue over wonderful alpine pastures, with Oberstkogel and Zischgeles in view, the trail then turns southeast to Köllenzeiger. Again more steeply, in rocky terrain, you reach the fork 32a (Oberstkogel) and 32, here you have to decide whether you dare to traverse the Oberstkogel (1+ on the relatively exposed ridge). For the traverse, follow trail 32a, which leads you over relatively steep and rocky terrain to the Oberstkogel (2,728 m). To go around, follow trail 32 and bypass the Oberstkogel on the south side.

To Zischgeles: From the summit of Oberstkogel, descend towards Schroffen, cross the first small rocky spur and bypass the second large rocky spur by descending a little and then crossing steep, overgrown terrain directly to the ridge. Now continue over the relatively exposed ridge in easy climbing directly to the highest point (2,267 m). The descent to the saddle is not difficult, from here you follow the marked path (32) to the summit, with easy climbing (one difficult section is secured) to the summit.

Descent: Descend directly from the summit via the NW ridge to the saddle hole, continue via Marleralm to the TIWAG asphalt road, turn right here to Schäfalm and continue via the old lift station back to the starting point in Praxmar.
