This is an easy hike with nice views of Walchensee. The hike is also possible in winter as long as avalanche danger is under reasonable limits.

Reaching the start point: The best way to reach the start point is to take the regional train from Munich to Kochel, and then take bus 9608 to Kesselberg Passhohe. This is the start and end point of the hike. The bus is not very frequent, so one should plan the time accordingly. The cheapest ticket option is Werdenfels ticket.

Ascent: The route is along a wide road up to the hut. The path is never too steep, and should pose no problems. After the hut, the route is along a narrow zigzag. During the winter months one should bring spikes for this part, as it could be quite slippery. At the end of the zigzag, we have the summit cross on the right, and a small shelter on the left.

Descent: The same as ascent
