Dear Buddies,

I had been thinking about seeing the Perseid Meteor Shower for long. We had a failed attempt 2 years before, but we could experience an amazing sunrise from Meilerhutte. This year I am going to stay in Karwendelhaus on 12^th August 2018. It’s a Sunday.  So, if you are planning to join me you have to take Monday off. There are only two reasons for making it in this way.

1.     No seats available on Sat (11^th August) night.

2.     12^th August is having maximum chance to see the meteor shower.

Where we go?

We go to the Birkkarspitze on 12^th August from Scharnitz and spend the night on Karwendelhaus and then Monday morning come back to Munich via Eng; of course, after seeing the amazing sunrise from the mountain.

Who can join me?

Absolutely regular and fit hikers, who are interested to accept the challenge.

What’s the tentative cost?

Two days Bayern or BOB ticket second day we might need to buy Bus ticket from Eng to Lenggries. If you have DAV membership night at hut costs 12,00 euro, if you don’t have it costs 23,00 euro. And whatever you wanna eat drink at the hut.

I have booked for 10 beds in the lager. I paid advance so, I would like to ask you to send me 10 Euro for the hut, if you confirm me but don’t go then you lose the 10 euro. I will lose it to the hut, anyway.

WHICH GEARS DO I NEED?

- Flashlight 
- Waterproof hiking boots
- Extra socks,(always helpful)
- Water (at least 2 litres).

-Food (We may not stop at the hut for food), we will eat at the top of Daniel. However, we deserve a beer at the hut (wieshutte or something) while coming back.

- Hiking poles. (They saved my life on my first hike).

- a rain jacket is recommended.

-Charged mobile phone (portable power bank is also recommended) with rescue number saved 112 and my number 01728871559 (AVAILABLE ONLY ON THE DAY OF HIKE).

- Expenditure for shared train/bus ticket: We share total expenditure of the transportation with the mean value J

Hiking Buddies Munich is not a group of professional mountain guides.
Each participant is responsible for him/herself and has to be prepared and bring suitable equipment.
