Route Information
Höfats is one of the most beautiful mountains in the world.
Neither of the summits can be reached easily. The easiest of the four summits is the Southeast-Summit. A very steep path leads to the summit from Älpelesattel. You need to be very surefooted, experienced and not scared of heights.
Anyone who gets into problems on the way to the summit can wait for the rest of the group at Älpelesattel.
There are several huts on this route, so depending on their work hours, one can stop and eat/ have a drink at "Dietersbach Alpe" right before we start to climb to the mountain.
Right after we descend into the valley one can also have a drink and eat something at Käseralpe.
Standard mountaineering Ice axe ( could be useful at times on the grass )
Do not attempt when the grass is wet. Wait for about 2-3 dry days after rainy days.
