La Malinche is a volcano in Mexico with the height of 4,444 meters above sea level. It is the sixth-highest mountain in Mexico

See wiki: Malintzin

We take the Normal route from the "centro vacacional malintzi" at 3300 and start climbing in the clear route towards south. The route is easy and shadowy until the height of 3900. A bit steep for not acclimatized people, one can feel the slope, yet this is just a nice warm up, as the next exposed part is steeper with gravel for the next 250m height. The 3rd part is made of big rocks, which for most people is much easier and fun than the gravel slope. At the very top there are few meters of climbing level 2 which can be done without an equipment for experienced people. Safer option (mostly for going down) is to take the right trail at the last fork (20 m before the wall) and climb the last meters on an easier slope from the eastern side of the peak.

We take the same way down all the way towards the north.

Climate is usually moderate through all year long with some snow at the winter season, Jan-Feb.

Although this route can be done without any special equipment, it is not a beginners route. Program marked as T1 but trail is harder between 4000 and 4400 MASL.

* Sun is strong in a clear day, even by cold temperatures.

* If one is not sure for his abilities at 4K MASL, acclimatizing is recommended.

** This is a nice summit for acclimatizing towards the 3 near by 5Ks of Mexico.
