The Zuckerhütl towers spectacularly above the Sulzenauferner and the Fernerstube of Tyrol as well as the Triebenkarlausferner and the Übeltalferner of South Tyrol.

Its even northern firn cap probably led to its striking name. Unfortunately, global warming is taking its toll on the Hütl.

The ascent is still an impressive experience in summer and winter.

Several access routes to the Pfaffensattel provide access to the normal ascent.

Safe walking on the glacier, climbing in the II degree of difficulty as well as stable mountain weather are necessary to make the tour a safe undertaking.

The Zuckerhütl is a serious high altitude tour.
