Brauneck (1,555 m) is one of the most visited peaks in Bavarian Prealps both in summer and in winter. Brauneck area is fully developed by farm tracks and the Brauneck-Bergbahn as well as several ski lifts and is a popular skiing and hiking area due to its proximity to the state capital Munich (60 km) and the connection to the Bayerische Oberlandbahn (BOB). The mountain is also a take-off point for paragliders, which they can easily reach by cable car. The separate landing sites are located north (hang-gliders) and south (paragliders) of the parking lot of the Brauneck-Bergbahn. A 100,000 m³ water reservoir was created in 2012 to provide artificial snow for the ski slopes [wiki].

Ascent: The hike is easy and well marked. However, you have to be able to hike 800m and 10Km comfortably.

Descent: Same as ascent (variations possible).
