The route passes by the following peaks:
-------
Pollux (4,092 m) is very famous especially during summer where 10-40 people reach the summit. Although it's slightly lower than it's neighbouring summit Castor, its more technical and the current route requires climbing up to grade III in icy conditions.
Ascent: From Zermatt, take the cable car (otherwise you have extra 2500m of elevation gain) to arrive at Kleine Matterhorn. From Kleine Matterhorn Follow the path to very famous Breithorn. But soon you divert from the Breithorn path towards SE to continue towards Bivacco Rossi-e-Volante. Be careful with the crevasses as there are some dangerous crevasses on the glacier. Crossing the bivouc and Schwarztor on the left, you arrive at the base of the summit where the climbing starts. From there the climbing part is fairly easy until you arrive at the crux which is often secured with the chain/rope. Once you arrive at the Madonna statue, you still have 100m more on the icy ridge to the summit.
Descent: Same as ascent you can continue to Zermatt on ski slopes or take the cable car back. Another possibility is to continue towards Monte Rosa hut over Schwarztor but you have to make sure the conditions are good.
