The Hike
From Baar railway station, the signposted route leaves the town out to the Allmend, then approaches the precipitous drop to the Lorzetobel and always runs close to the edge to the Tobelbrücke bridge. Behind the road, the path continues uphill for a bit, dives down into the wildly rugged Schwarzenbachtobel on a secured path and winds its way up to the Wildenburg ruins on the other side.

From the ruins, first walk in the direction of Allenwinden. Then, at the farmer's estate, the route descends left into the Lorzetobel, keeps to the right, passes the river crossing and runs out of the valley on the other bank to the covered wooden bridge at the small power station. When advancing rocks narrow the valley floor, the entrance to the Höllgrotten soon appears.

A little below, where the valley widens and the wild Höllbach stream flows in, a rustic restaurant offers an opportunity to stop for a bite to eat. The quiet Lorze riverside path then leads back towards Baar, accompanied by the information boards of the Lorze industrial nature trail. Passing the oldest mill in the canton of Zug, the circular route finally reaches Baar railway station again.
