The Kreuzspitze is the tallest peak in the German part of the Ammergau Alps and the so called Kreuzspitz subgroup. The peaks within that group are formed from very loose rock-formations. The subgroup has only two frequently visited peaks, one of them is the Kreuzspitze the second is the Friederspitz. The route includes a short scrambling section (I), not exposed. Up and down the same way, nevertheless a very varied route with a bit alpine flair. For very experienced hikers with climing skills (II) it's recommended to do the so called Kreuzspitzreibn, the ridge from Frieder to Kreuzspitze.
