The hardest part is Südwandsteig slightly to the south of the Kampenwand-Westgipfel and Kampenwand-Hauptgipfel, and the most difficult portion of the hardest part, namely the beginning of Südwandsteig in the west, involves short scrambling or climbing of degree II and can be classified as T6. Except the west end of Südwandsteig, the trail goes approximately up to T4. Südwandsteig can be skipped altogether by walking the southern part of the loop instead. Except Südwandsteig, the route goes approximately up to T3.
