Who from the Engtal approaches the route to Hahnkampl, experiences a very varied mountain tour in the midst of a magnificent Karwendel landscape. Already the approach over the Binsalm to the saddle is designed with close views of the Gamsjoch and the Lamsenspitze very attractive. At Binsattel, the view of the neighboring Sonnjoch and the Falzthurntal opens up. The promising tightrope hike to the Hahnkampl peak is very entertaining, the crossing to the western Lamsenjoch still holds a more demanding passage. Here is the sure-footed and giddy-free goers in demand.
Lamsenjoch and it is only a few minutes to Lamsenjochhütte. After a short rest at the hut, we descend a few meters into a grassy basin and across a rugged terrain we reach a marked trail. We continue mostly on the south side just below the ridge. Soon, however, the climb continues directly on the grassy and some easy scrambling grade I is announced till we reach the Schafjöchl summit. The views to the huge rocky Lamsenspitze massif from the Schafjöchl ridge are impressive! From here we go back to Lamsenjochhütte and we take the way down to Eng Alm.
