Lets go to East Allgäu in the heart of Ammergau in Kenzen wildlife protected area and further to summit One of the most beautiful peaks in the area till Neuschwanstein! To Kenzenhütte the king was coming every July to enjoy the wonderful landscapes and hearing concert at night close to the Kenzen waterfalls. The tour begins near the former royal hunting lodge and runs partly along the European long-distance path E4. Here we have wonderful view to Ammergau in particular to the Matterhorn of Allgäu (Geiselstein) and we can take a look to a beautiful small waterfall nearby.
From the Sägertal car park we follow the picturesque Sägertalbach on a forest path, which winds through the valley between rocks and colorful mixed forest. After about an hour, the forest road turns into a narrower road that now slowly winds its way up the mountain in serpentines. At a crossroads, which we reach after about half an hour, we follow the hiking trail towards Bäckenalmsattel/Kenzenhütte. Now begins a beautiful little hiking trail that leads along the slope above the stream. After a short while we cross the stream and reach a small forest area that consists mainly of young maples.
After the small forest it goes over the former alpine pasture of the Bäckenalm to the saddle between Hasental and Grubenkopf. From here we continue following the hiking trail across meadows and through forests in about half an hour to the Kenzenhütte.
We climb up to the Kenzensattel. From here we can admire a wonderful rock Castle that we Will be approach very soon!
First we cross the Gumpenkar, always keeping to the left, to reach the climb to Fensterl and the Hochplatte.
First it goes through boulder terrain and later uphill over a steep gravel ramp. When this ramp reaches the rocky area, the path turns left and climbs the slope in switchbacks and an alternation of gravel and rock.
At about the same height as the window you reach a small rock wall, along which a steel cable runs horizontally to the right to the window. We cross the Fensterl, a very impressive Window on the Ammergau Alps.
In order to reach the Hochblasse, you first have to cross to the Roggentalgabel in a few minutes, Then you climb, on a path to the north ridge of the Hochbasse, which you follow with some scrambling and always keeping to the ridge to the summit. The first impressive sight awaits you at the crossroads when you follow the Roggentalbach towards Roggentalgabel. From this point the path winds steeply up the slope towards the sky. Once you have reached the Roggentalgabel, which scores points with its first view over the Krähe, Straussberg and Säuling, climb the left path up towards Hochblasse. After about 15 minutes, you reach the leafy summit of the Hochblasse with the small but beautiful summit cross via a small climbing section in loose rock and a short ridge passage.
With a quick 360 degree panoramic view, this peak is one of the most beautiful panoramic peaks in the Ammergau Alps. The large flat meadow around the summit is ideal for a long rest. We then head west towards Hohenschwangau but not before a rewarding stop at Fritz Putz Hütte.
