Torkopf also called Torspitze is a 2.014m high mountain in the Northern Karwendel Chain.
The most hikers only do the so called "Rohntal-Tortal-Runde" and skip the peak, also a nice hike but the real challenge is to climb the Torkopf via steep grass slopes and rocky climbing sections in the first difficulties of UIAA (I-II). It's not recommended to do the tour if its wet. Expierence with steep gras routes is mandatory, some sections are exposed.
The peak with the small cross offers fantastic views to the Karwendel-Kings and Pre-Karwendel on the other site.
A good route for windy days since Torkopf is surrounded by higher mountains.
German description with detailed information about the difficulty in each section on hikr
Also a video is available on youtube (do not underestimate the old guys, they are all from an alpine cub)
