The route hike starts in Starnberg, ascends along Jacobs trail and King-Ludwig trail in the direction of Lake Ammersee. It continues through Maisinger gorge and through one of the oldest nature reserves in Bavaria, the Maisinger lake nature reserve. The hike ends at Andechs monastery with its famous self-brewed beer.
