Säuling (2047 m) is a mountain on the German-Austrian border in the Ammergau Alps which is also known as the Northern Limestone Alps.
According to the legend, the devil personally ripped off a rock from the pillar and threw it in the direction of Roßhaupten, but the stone fell perpendicularly to the ground and stopped in front of the village which can be seen today.
