This easy but long round tour hike is also suitable for winter tour with snow and offers spectacular views of the Allgäu and as a goodie the Starznachklamm at the end.

The hike starts and ends with about 4km walk from Sonthofen train station to Winkel and back. If you arrive by car, you can start at parking lot near Alpe Weiherle.

Otherwise you start hiking by passing over the first hill to reach the street from Burgberg and turn left until you reach the sign to Burgberger Hörnle, which you follow. Later take the path "nur für Geübte" towards Hörnle (not the Normalweg), which involves some scrambling near the peak. After the peak follow the way (secured by ropes along an exposed section) to Siechenberg, with an optional break at Grüntenhaus (closed during winter), Hochwartspitze and Grünten. From the peak descend to Grüntenhütte (both paths are fine), which has open even during winter (check first!). After a break return on the same way until there is a path on the left. Follow it downhill until you reach the street. Walk on the street till Obere Schwande hut, go down to Kehralpe hut and turn right to the Alpe Topfen hut. Follow the signs to Starznachklamm and continue on the Wanderweg back to Winkel.

If you have arrived by car, return to the parking lot on the same initial path the as description above.
