The Silvretta alps impress with jagged, rugged peaks. The tour to the Western Plattenspitze offers plenty of them to your eyes! Silvrettahorn, Piz Buin, Piz Linard, Große Seehorn or the Großlitzne just to name a few ones.

From the Bielerhöhe you go west and soon pass the Madlener Haus to the south. Shortly behind, you branch off the road to the left onto a footpath (path no. 302), which soon crosses the Kromer Bach. Follow the stream to the west for a while and then keep left at the fork in the road. The path now leads over moderately steep northern slopes up to the Tschifernella plateau. As soon as the terrain becomes flatter again, the path turns a little to the south and soon leads past two pretty small mountain lakes.

Behind these you then descend briefly to the eastern upper reaches of the Kromer Bach, where you come to a road. You can now either follow this to the Saarbrücker Hut, which is already visible, or, after a right and left bend, branch off to the right to follow a path that leads a little faster and shorter up to the hut. The Saarbrücker Hütte not only shines with its idyllic, prominent location on a small promontory, but also with an unobstructed view of impressive mountain peaks - the Großlitzner and Großes Seehorn accompany you on the way to the hut. From the Saarbrücker Hütte we go on till the marked path to the Seelücke. The Seelücke connects the Austrian Silvretta area with Switzerland. The transition is in close proximity to the remaining Seegletscher on the Swiss side and the Litznergletscher on the Austrian side. The old customs hut on the Seelücke is a relic of the old days. As a guarded customs hut, it took on an important control function at the border. The stretch from the Seelücke to the Plattenjoch is on Swiss territory.  over unstable boulders on the slope of the moraine down into the high valley of the Seegletscher, keep to the right. You reach a signpost to Plattenjoch, Plattenspitze, Tübinger Hütte. Here right again up to the Plattenjoch, an insured point, and from there a steep scramble to the summit. However, orientation is not particularly difficult as old markings (red dots) are still present. It's an easy boulder scramble until you practically reach the summit, before which there's a short, exposed section. The Westliche Plattenspitze is a 2883  m high mountain in the Silvretta at the end of the Montafon and lies on the border between the Austrian state of Vorarlberg and the Swiss canton of Graubünden . The view from the summit shows in the north the Lechquelle Mountains , the Allgäu and Lechtal Alps , the Verwall , in the northwest you can see the Drusenfluh including Schesaplana and Sulzfluh , in the east the impressive picture with the Großer Litzner (3109 m), the Seehörner, in the south the striking one Pyramid of Piz Linard (3411 m) and behind it the Bernina group . In the west you can see many well-known peaks of the Bernese Alps, about 150 km away. We finally reach Tübinger Hütte where we have dinner and spend the night before the second adventure days begins. The second day we go for a longer path mostly less technical than the first day and without summits but including many wonderful alpine lakes on the swiss side of the Silvretta range. After a barren, rocky environment on the northern side of the mountain range, a high alpine landscape covered with mosses and meadows awaits us on the southern side. Turquoise mountain lakes are the last traces left here by the retreating glaciers

First it goes relatively leisurely to the Garnerajoch (2488 m), where the border with Switzerland is crossed, and just as leisurely beyond that down to around 2230 m until you come to a path that leads up from the Schlappintal. On this again 300 meters southeast to Schaftällifurga (2535 m) and again down to the beautiful Hüenersee (2453 m). Hüenersee is not fed by a glacier, but is filled by a small stream as a tributary, underground springs and natural precipitation. This also explains its naturally dark green color. The most striking views from Hüenersee are the striking spikes of the Seeschijen in the southeast of the lake and the striking and almost triangular Plattenhorn (2,669 m above sea level) in the west of the lake. For fishermen, Lake Hüenersee also offers good fishing prospects with fishing rods. After a short circumnavigation of the lake, you soon go up again about 200 meters in altitude through rubble terrain (initially through coarse boulders) to the Schottenseelücke (2633 m). And back down to the Schottensee. The Seehorn Glacier also feeds the Schottensee, which is where the striking milky color comes from, hence the name. Then we go south into the Seetal into more lovely terrain down to the lake without a name and to the rather hidden, unmanaged small Seetalhütte (2065 m), where we take a lunch break. The Seetalsee (2,064 m above sea level) with its beautiful green color is easily accessible from the southern side. The Seetalhütte is located on the lake: the former SAC hut, with its simple furnishings, is reminiscent of the pioneering days of the metallurgical industry. It was built as military accommodation during World War II and is hidden under a rocky outcropping. With a bit of luck, the rowing boat on the lake will also be available for a romantic trip. We go for the final ascent of the day till Klosterpass passing a number of unnamed lakes remains from the receding glacier. From Klosterpass we go down all the way till our starting point enjoying romantic Klostertal and walking along the Silvretta Stausee till we reach the end point of this beautiful two days hike.
