The Geierstein also known as Geigerstein is a 1,491 m high mountain in the western Mangfall Mountains, part of the Bavarian Prealps, and is located near Lenggries in the Isarwinkel.
The ascent is partly very steep, rough and in wet weather slippery and unpleasant. The descent begins with a beautiful but short ridge hike and leads first to gentle alpine pastures, then back down into the valley on a soft and beautiful forest path (Maximiliansweg).
