Aiplspitz is a 1759 meter high mountain in the Rotwandgruppe east of the Spitzingsee in the Bavarian Alps. It consists of flat limestone, its eastern and northern slopes show striking cirques, for which the Aiplspitz is designated as a geotope [wikipedia].

This route is an attempt to the peak from the east: from Geitau near Osterhofen (suburb of Bayrischzell) via Geitauer Alpl and the N-Grat, AV-Weg 643/B5, there is a road to Geitauer Alpl, then a path to the beginning of the ridge.

It offers a fantastic view from the top on a sunny day. There is an additional peak on this tour Jägerkamp. Those who have arrived by car will have to follow the same route to Geitau. Others can ascent down to Spitzingsee

By public transport: The easiest way to reach there from Munich is to take a BOB train to Geitau. BOB trains have 3 different compartment which get split in Holzkirchen. So, you have to be careful that you are in the correct compartment which goes to Bayrischzell. On the way back, you have to take RVO bus to Fischhausen-Neuhaus first. From there, you can take the BOB train back to Munich. The Bayern ticket covers the cost in the bus as well as in train.

By car: After driving till Geitau, turn right at Gasthof Rote Wand and continue to the hiking car park at the end of the road.

No huts during the hike, bring enough food and water with you.
