Important: Please pay attention to the part between 4.47 km and 5.53 km mark, and do not miss the turn here in winter, unless you have crampons.
Highlight: Hochfelln has one of the highest chapel in Germany.
Reaching the start point: The closest train station is Ruhpolding, which is a couple of kilometers from the route start point. One could either walk from the train station, or take the bus to Guglberger (not very frequent).
Ascent: The first part goes along a wide forest road, which is not too steep. Around 4.47 km mark, the road becomes narrower. Turn left here, and not go straight unless you have crampons or it is summer, as the straight path might be covered by snow or ice in winter. If you take this detour, then your path will be on relatively wide mountain road running along a stream.
Soon we reach Farnboedernalm. After a kilometers or so we are already above the forest line. From here the Chapel and cabel car station are already visible.
The last part is steep, and avalanche prone, and must be taken only when avalanche danger is no more than 2.
