From Lugano via San Salvatore to Morcote

Part 1: Through Lugano and along the lake

• Alternative: Take the train to Paradiso and skip the nice town. [Link]

Part 2: Hike up San Salvatore. Nice view points and popular restaurant on top.

• Alternative for non-hikers: Take the funicular [Link]
• Alternative for not going all the way up: At the funicular station Pazzallo, go along the mountain to Carabbia (there is a nice path) and then go up from there.
• Alternative for climbers: Via Ferrata K4-5 (difficult – very difficult) [Link]

Part 3: Along the mountain to Morcote. Nice forrest, some houses, a botanical park and a long stair down.

• Alternative: Go down from Carona to Melide

Way back: By boat to Lugano or by bus to Melide and then by train to Lugano
