User provided description:
The ski tour to the Ponten is one of the most popular ski tours in the Allgäu Alps. It offers a direct ascent and a fast but not too steep descent.
Due to its easy accessibility, fast ascent, and, above all, direct descent in a northerly direction, this is a popular and rewarding tour throughout the winter. Even though it is very popular and offers some beautiful descent options, the avalanche risk must be taken into account and the necessary precautions taken.
Schattwald car park (Wannenjochbahn, 1095 m) – Mittlere Stuibenalpe (1431 m) – through the north-facing cirque to the ridge between Ponten and Bschießer (“Güntle”) – over the south-west ridge up to the summit – descent as ascent (approx. 30-35° slope) or in an easterly direction through the gully (up to over 40°), then below Mittlere Stuibenalpe descent on the ascent track.
