Round tour in Fränkische Schweiz (Direction Nürnberg) - this tour is makeable all year, but as it is pretty long and some parts are quite exposed, it is not advisable for complete beginners.

Don't get scared by the T4 - there is just a little bit of scrambling and a lot of running up and down on leaves which can get slippery when wet (they stay all year), but it is neither very challenging nor very dangerous.

You get to Vorra and then start hiking directly at the church. The route is marked clearly with a green bar, but as you follow it, it branches into several routes of various difficulty. If you want to stick to the planned route, the use of GPS is strongly advisable!

Take ICE or RE (if on Bayern Ticket) to Nürnberg, then Regio Train in the direction of Hersbruck to Hersbruck. At the time of writing SEV in direction of Neuhaus to Vorra. The tour finishes in Hohenstadt, where one can take the SEV back to Hersbruck, then RB to Nürnberg and RE to Munich.

Alternatively, go to Vorra, turn right at the main junction and leave the car around the church where the tour starts.

Huts / Inns on the way - there are little villages on the way, the tour starts and finishes in small towns. There are pubs/cafés on the way which are cosy, inexpensive and well-visible from the walking route.

I think we had at least 5 open pubs/huts on the way, some serving food as well as drinks. Get informed in advance about their opening times.

GPS is advisable.

Some parts are a bit exposed, may not be advisable for people afraid of heights, but usually can be skipped/bypassed.

There are plenty of optional climbing opportunities, but you will need the equipment.
