Hoher Ziegspitz (1.864m) is a rather unfrequented peak in the Ammergauer Alps. The reason could be, that the most hikers in the area aim to climb the well known Kramerspitz, the "Hausberg" of Garmisch.

From the top of Hoher Ziegspitz you have the best views to Eibsee, the Bavarian caribbean and Zugspitze, the Top of Germany.

The ascent and descent is the same way across the so called "Gelbes Gewänd", a well laid out beautiful trail which looks different all times of the day. There is a nice hut on the way with excellent views  to the Zugspitzmassive.

By public transport (with Werdenfels-Ticket):
The hike starts directly at the station Untergrainau, it's a "Bedarfshalt" so you have to push a stop button in the train shortly before the train pass Untergrainau.
