Verzasca Valley to Locarno Hike + Moon & Stars 🎵🥾

Who's up for a full day of hiking through one of Switzerland's most beautiful valleys, finishing in Locarno in time for another swim before the Moon & Stars festival?

Date: Tuesday, July 14
Meeting point: Verzasca, Posse (arriving by bus at 08:39)
Hiking start: 09:15

The plan is to meet after the morning bus arrives, enjoy a quick swim in the crystal-clear Verzasca River and grab a coffee before setting off.

We'll follow the SwitzerlandMobility Route 74, Stage 2, https://schweizmobil.ch/en/hiking-in-switzerland/route-74/stage-2

hiking from Verzasca, Posse to Locarno. The route offers spectacular river scenery, picturesque villages, forests, and a gradual descent towards Lake Maggiore.

Route details:

• 🥾 Distance: approximately 21 km
• ⏱️ Estimated walking time: 7h10
• 📈 A full-day hike with a good pace and regular breaks
• 🥪 Bring your own lunch, snacks, and plenty of water
• 👙 Optional morning swim before we start and along the way

The timing should comfortably get us into Locarno with enough time to freshen up before the Moon & Stars concert featuring Jessie J and OneRepublic that evening. Whether you're heading to the concert or just joining for the hike, you're very welcome!

This hike is suitable for experienced hikers who are comfortable walking for 7+ hours at a steady pace.
