Route Information

This three day hike takes you through the Monte Baldo at Lake Garda. There are two nights in two huts planned. Going from north to south the first stage takes you from Nago to Rifugio Damiano Chiesa, the second stage to Rifugio di Telegrafo. The last stage takes to the center of Affi.

In 2019 there was a lot of snow and the huts Damiano Chiesa and Telegrafo, G. Barana opened one month later than 2018.

Critical could be the Cime di Valdritta, the highest point of Monte Baldo. It may carry snow and ice and could provide a high risk.

You may take a detour from Damiano Chiesa hike to Bocca di Navene and take path 80 and later path 652. Landscapewise it is beautiful with lots of groundhogs along the way. Path 652 than goes steep up to the Telegrafo.

In 2019 the huts all opened at the end of May. Be sure to check with the staff at the huts whether the tracks are already hikable. Mountaineering equipment might be needed.
