Route Information

Wallberg (1722 m) lies in the Mangfall Mountains in the Bavarian Prealps [wikipedia]. It's one of the most famous mountains in Bavarian alps.

The starting point of the hike is the cable car station, from there it's normal forest road to the top of the cable car station. At the top of the cable car station, there is hut which provides foods and drinks. The summit is towards the north east direction from the hut.

In winter it's usually a good idea to ride on sledge to go down. The cable car station provides cheap sledge rental offers. 

By Car: The address for the navigation is: Wallbergstraße, 83708 Kreuth.

By public transport: The easiest way to reach the starting point of the hike is take a BOB train from Munich towards Tegernsee. The train from Munich has 3 different compartments, which get split in Holzkirchen and go in different destinations. So you have to board the train in the right compartment which goes towards Tegernsee. You can take a RVO bus from Tegernsee to the cable car station to Wallberg (Wallbergbahn). The cheapest way to to travel is buying the Bavern Ticket for group. It's valid also in the Bus.
