One of the many routes up to Piz Boe (3152m), the highest peak in the Sella group. The route goes via Val Setus towards the Pisciadu hut / Pisciadu lake, then towards Boe Hut  (with an optional peak Cima Pisciadu for beautiful views, approx. 40 mins extra), and then to the summit of Piz Boe. The descent path via Mittalstal branches out around Boe hut.

For the most part, the route is technically easy. Some sections are partly secured with cables (last part before Rifugio Pisciadu, last part between Rifugio Boe and the summit, and the descent via Mittagstal /Val Mezdì). The decision whether to use a verrata set is entirely up to the climber. The way to Cima Pisciadu (optional extra peak) involves some unsecured scrambling.

Warning 1: The route is largely underrated on the SAC scale. The part before Rifugio Pisciadu is probably T4, the way after the Rifugio Pisciadu is also T4 for the large part.

Warning 2:  The first parts of the descent via Mittagstal are very steep and typically covered in snow until mid-July, partly icy even in the afternoon! The steel cables are often fully under snow, so the descent might become dangerous. Check for current conditions on Rifugio Boe and assess them visually from above before descending. Crampons might be good to have for this descent in the early summer. There is also some danger of rockfall during the descent.

Start from the parking lot next to the shop.
