Hochries (1569 m) is a mountain at the northern edge of the western Chiemgau Alps. From the managed Hochrieshütte it offers an excellent panoramic view over the district of Rosenheim, the Simssee and the Chiemsee, the Inn valley and the surrounding mountains (Kaisergebirge, eastern Mangfallgebirge) up to the Großglockner and the glaciers of the Central Alps.

This route goes through three summits closely located on a ridge in this order: Karkopf and Hochries. The path is very well marked and this route can also be done as evening hike if you are fast.
