Inspired by a blog post by the Ordnance Survey, the British public mapping service, I would like to give this hike a go at some point. It's certainly not an easy route, with very little on paths, and possibly plenty of scrambling. I've added around 13 km to the original 71 km straight line, in order to reduce the ascent from around 5000 m to somewhere between 1500 m and 2000 m. Germany certainly doesn't have anywhere as wild as the Cairngorms!

Getting to the start and from the end almost certainly will involve hitchhiking.

By public transport:
Train station near start point: Dalwhinnie (6.6 Km from start point)

Nope, this is Scotland!
